Lithology and Thickness
Divided into two sub-stages. Lower (thickness of 240-700m) consists of three parts; at the base (thickness of 55-185m) basal conglomerates; in the middle (thickness of 90-420m) - sandstones with interlayers of conglomerates, siltstones, and limestones, upper (thickness of 95m) - thin-bedded detrital, detrital-slime, and algal-foraminiferal limestones. Thickness of the suite is 460-1010m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Lies with deep erosion on terrigenous deposits of the Renzhit Fm of the middle Carboniferous (Bosbutau), limestones of the lower Carboniferous and red-colored sandstones of the Devonian (southeastern slope of the Chatkal Range
Upper contact
Overlain with erosion by the Uluk Fm
Regional extent

The complex belongs to the zone of Occidentoschwagerina alpina - Licharevites paranitidus (lower zone of the Kerkidon Mountains). The same genera species are found in the sections of the southeastern slope of the Chatkal Range, where they are associated with the middle sandy-siltstone part and the upper carbonate part. Together with them along the river Chanach, Triticites ventricosus Meek. et Hayd., T. biformis Bensh, Daixina (D.) bipartita Bensh, Licharevites sp. Bepx. upper sub-stage (thickness 220-310m) - limestones, at the base - thin-bedded algal and detrital-slime, higher - light thick-bedded and massive microgranular, detrital, and biomorphic with algae, foraminifera, and brachiopods. At the base are small packets of sandstones, but more often - closed intervals of the section (thickness 30-50m), separating thin-bedded limestones from thick-bedded and massive ones. Contains a series of forms common with the underlying zone among rugosofusulines, rugosofusulinoids, dutkevichii, dunbarinell, and pseudofusulinoids, characterized by the appearance of Schwagerina shamovi Scherb., S. moelleri Raus., S. pavlovi Raus., S. fusiformis elongata Bensh, S. ex gr. vulgaris Scherb., S. kargalensis Raus., Pseudoschwagerina uddeni Beede et Kniker, P. monstrata Bensh, Paraschwagerina ingloria Bensh, P. aff. tinvenkiangi Lee, P. aff. acuminata uralensis Raus., Kahlerella alpina gigantea (Bensh), Rugosofusulinoides directa (Bensh), Pseudochusenella pseudopointeli (Raus.), Globifusulina portentosa (Sham.), Grozdilovia? fecunda asiatica (Bensh), Pseudofusulina (s.l.) versabile Bensh, P, (s.1.) cf. subnathorsti (Lee), the foraminiferal complex typical for the zone Schwagerina moelleri - Pseudofusulina fecunda; brachiopods - Buxtonia juresanensis Tschern., Dictyoclostotus gratiosus occidentalis (Schellw.), Urushtenia pseudomedusa (Tschern.), Spirifer lyraeformis Tschern., Hustedia remota (Eichw.), Dielasma elongata Tschern.
